2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Review

    Hyundai unveiled Genesis Coupe, the new benchmark for the sport may cut 300 horsepower at a press conference at the International Auto Show in New York. The 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe is a rear building sports coupe with two performance-oriented engine - 212 horsepower (est.), 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and an aluminum high-end, 306 hp (est) DOHC 3.8-liter V6. Hyundai Genesis Coupe will join the range of Hyundai in the spring of 2009.

    Following the introduction earlier this year of the Genesis rear-drive sedan sport, Hyundai Genesis Coupe is the most dynamic performance car from Hyundai ever, and the second consecutive all-new model from Hyundai appealing directly to car enthusiasts. Hyundai Genesis Coupe uses the same flexible propulsion architecture originally developed for the Genesis sport sedan.

    "We believe that the entry-level Genesis Coupe 2.0t, with its unique combination of rear-wheel drive and four-cylinder turbo, offers an interesting alternative to existing front-wheel drive sports coupe," said John Krafcik, director of product development and planning strategic, Hyundai Motor America. "From the 3.8-liter version of Genesis Coupe takes driving to an even higher level, rivaling the high performance capabilities, such as the Infiniti G37 coupe."

    DESIGN PROCESS

    2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe Genesis Coupe concept is reflected in the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show and its transformation from concept to production reveals that its signature features was born intact.

    "The mission of the Genesis Coupe was to create a pure performance car with a design that will capture the imagination of hardcore automotive enthusiasts," said Joel Piaskowski, chief designer at the Hyundai Design Center in Irvine, Calif. "With its aggressive look from any angle, I think we have been able to do so."

    Hyundai Genesis Coupe is also undeniably linked to several Hyundai concept cars. The powerful curves, undulating beltline, surface detail and lines "Z" side come straight from HCD9 Talus and HCD8 sports coupe concepts.

    The Hyundai Genesis Coupe rocker draws close to the ground forming the body very thick and the daylight opening thin, allowing the wheels to be slammed up into bulging wings. To complete the aggressive sports car look, the depth between the fenders and the greenhouse has been maximized.

    Large openings in the front fascia allow the engine to breathe better. The dual exhaust tips integrated into the rear fascia with surrounding blackout repeat the design of the instrument panel graphics.

    Hyundai Genesis Coupe rides on standard alloy wheels or optional 18-inch 19-inch wheels, both offering a bold stance and aggressive handling.
     


    INTERIOR DESIGN

    True to its mission to be the most exciting, affordable sports coupe on the road, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe boasts a cockpit designed to enhance the driving experience. An information display offers outside temperature reading and audio system information. Analog gauges include a speedometer and tachometer position so high that the driver can immediately access critical driving information. The instrument cluster features Hyundai's signature lighting blue indicator.

    Front bucket seats with large side forces offers excellent lateral support for enthusiastic driving. Seating surfaces of high quality ranging from full black fabric on the GS and GT Hyundai Genesis Coupe, optional full black or brown leather on the GT, to red cloth inserts with black leather reinforces the SE.

    Among other improvements are an Infinity audio system and two-stage heated front seats. Hyundai Genesis Coupe also offers the convenience of an intelligent key and starter button.

    Rear-wheel drive architecture

    INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES

    The 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe offers Xenon high-discharge (HID). The advantages of HID headlamps include greater lighting power, lighting, day-type and reduced power consumption. In addition, the cutting lines HID headlights are extremely precise new offering maximum visibility at night without dazzling other drivers.

    Music lovers will welcome the 2011 Hyundai Genesis Coupe standard auxiliary input jacks (3.5 mm mini-jack and USB input) to accommodate and charge audio devices such as iPods ®.
