2011 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GT Review

    The Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder is the "attainable exotic" that combines exciting design and performance with a high value high technology and excellent convertible.

    In 2009, Mitsubishi Spyder redesigned the front and rear bumper strips, and the GT model also gets three significant upgrades for 2009: a new dual exhaust system yields a more powerful sound while increasing power and 265 (top 260), discharge standard high intensity discharge (HID) lamps sharpen front styling and support nighttime visibility, and standard Active Stability Control (ASC) to improve driving safety. Fabric New fabrics give all models a richer interior feel and appearance. Optional Deluxe Leather Package GS model now includes aluminum pedals.
     


    Eclipse is offered 4-cylinder GS and V-6 GT. GS 162-hp 2.4-liter 4-cylinder is a team of five-speed manual or optional 4-speed automatic. GT 265 hp 3.8-liter V-6 produces 262 Nm maximum torque, and has collaborated with a 6-speed manual or optional 5-speed automatic. In both engines, Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control (MIVEC) helps optimize power and efficiency over a wide speed range. Sportronic automatic transmission shifters ™ feature to allow manual control of the change.
     


    A rigid platform and 4 independent wheels give the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder sporty road manners and a walk along the line. The GT includes alloy wheels, 18 inches standard. All models are equipped with four-wheel disc anti-lock (ABS) and electronic brake distribution (EBD), the GT has more ventilated discs at the rear.

    Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder automatic cloth top folds out of sight under a flush tonneau cover supplied with about 19 seconds. Top multi-layer construction provides a full headliner for the quiet, comfortable interior feeling of a coupe when it is highlighted. The glass rear widow has a defroster.
     


    Houses wave-shaped dashboard easy to reach controls and features distinctive motorcycle-inspired gauges and ice blue LED illumination at night. Three interior colors are offered: Techno-Sport (dark charcoal), Hi-Q Sport (medium gray) and Avante Garde (terra cotta). Seats front bucket high back headrest incorporate open for a sporty look and enhanced rear visibility. The steering wheel has audio controls remotely.
     


    All Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder has a standard 650-watt (max.) Rockford Fosgate audio system with AM/FM/CD/MP3 playback capability, including a 6-disc in-dash CD changer and SIRIUS ® Satellite Radio service 6 months prepaid. The system is specifically designed for the Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder and provides automatic sound equalization for the realization of recharge or top down. An 8-in. subwoofer integrated into the rear seat area provides deep bass and a unique design element.
