Some reports have indicatedboth the twin-turbo V8 X6 M or the 5.0L V10 from the M5 and M6, but considering the numbers of the 760th power, which slots below a M7, we expect that BMW can borrow an engine from both of its subsidiary Rolls Royce, or 8-Series now deleted.

Could BMW actually be planning an M7? This might just be the case after the more powerful Audi S8 was caught testing at the Nurburgring last month with all of its supercharged V8 muscle sprawling all over the track. The rumor of it receiving the RS6’s V10 Twin Turbo producing 600 HP may also be a reason BMW is battling back and forth with the idea of an M7.
So, is it in the cards? We think it should be. The BMW M7 could potentially have a Turbo V12 with M Twin Scroll Turbo Technology that boasts 650-700 hp at 5200 rpm and 680-700 lb-ft of torque at 1800 rpm. The engine will be mated to an M six speed sport automatic transmission.
The Mercedes S63 AMG and the supercharged Audi S8 might just be the push BMW needs to create the one car that could give these other ones a run for their money. Yes, it may be a little on the pricey side of the monetary scale, but if people want it bad enough, they will buy it. Wasn’t the Porsche Panamera on top of the Porsche sales charts last month? Come on BMW, if you build it, they will buy it.

The 2011 M6 largely addresses these concerns, while improving on the M series already strong racing characteristics. Performance

This insane speed and acceleration as also coupled with amazing handling that drivers have come to expect from BMW. The seven-speed automated SMG transmission is described by some as jerky. At this point many potential buyers are probably asking "What are the pros and cons of buying this vehicle? Is there even any downside? It sounds perfect". The plutonium-grade 5-series, the M5, goes on sale next spring. Unlike the current car, the fifth-generation M5 will have a downsized, turbocharged V-8 that is shared with the X5 M and X6 M. But the move from a 5.0-liter V-10 to a 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V-8 results in a power increase from 500 horsepower to more than 555 (some sources place the number closer to 600). Torque will jump from today’s 383 pound-feet to a more shovetastic 500.The new engine is not only more powerful than the 5.0-liter V-10, it is also more fuel efficient—BMW will add a stop-start system to shut off the engine when the car comes to a halt. As in today’s M5, a button releases the full horsepower count; don’t press it, and the engine goes into a more fuel-efficient mode that reportedly will even deactivate cylinders. Further improving efficiency are electronic flaps in the front fascia that can close to improve aerodynamics when the air isn’t needed for cooling. Also present, for the sake of fuel savings, is electric power steering from the new 5-series.
Gone is the clunky-shifting, single-clutch seven-speed automated manual that, while trackworthy, was less than impressive during commuting. A dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox, similar to the M DCT system in the M3, should smooth shifts considerably. No word on the continuation of the optional six-speed manual from the current car.
When the M5 arrives next spring, expect to pay nearly $100,000 for the privilege of owning one

With the new M5, BMW will focus on improving all aspects of the car.
First, the car will be built on a new aluminum chassis, and will include extensive use of carbon fiber. This will help reduce the weight of the car considerably. It will also produce 25% less CO2, and the new V8 engine will be more economical in fuel consumption.
Under the hood, where it could be a little difficult. Initially, the new M5 have the same engine V8 twin-turbo 4.4 liter "found in" BMW X6 M ". but instead of 555 million horses in the X6, the new engine will be BMW M5 with a 578 horse power infernal.

The M5 F10 will be available with ceramic brakes, a first for a production model BMW. Ceramic brakes offer great stopping power, and the ravages of time, produce less brake dust, and are very light. What kind of brakes are also used for models like the Porsche GT2 and Nissan GT-R.

For the next M5, BMW will use the same engine in the BMW X6 M, but the bi-turbo 4.4-liter V8 that makes 555 hp and 680 Nm of torque in the BMW X6 M is rumored to be in capable of delivering 578 hp in the BMW M5.
There's a reason this car is hyped up a lot and that the reason lies in the performance figures. Dr. Kay Segler, president of BMW M GmbH, BMW M5 describes as "a bold business car by pressing a button turns into a sports car." It accelerates from 0 to 62mph in 4.4 seconds and reach a limited speed of 155 mph or 188 mph with the option "Driver Package M".

The Cadillac CTS-V has also gained much ground in the U.S. market, and with good reason. For one thing, it's cheap compared to other models - it starts at $ 64,290, and it also has a very impressive V8 engine of 6.2 liters with an output of 556 hp and 551 lb-ft of torque

I have reason to believe that the next BMW M3, M5 and M6 will be turbocharged. And while some BMW purists now might be lamenting the slow death of the naturally-aspirated BMW, realize that turbocharging is not only the wave of the future, but with turbochargers, you get more power out of less weight, thus leading to better handling characteristics. Now that is true BMW.
The X5M and X6M have been announced, and both of them have a juicy twin-turbo V8. The hopped up version of the X6 XDrive48i's engine throws down 555 horsepower and 501 lb-feet of torque. Both of those numbers are FAR ahead of the 500 horsepower and (seemingly paltry in comparison) 383 lb-feet of torque from the current M5's naturally-aspirated V10.
Which is why I have reason to believe that this exact same engine, is destined for the next BMW M5 and M6. It's far less expensive to pump up and turbocharge their oft-used 4.4-liter V8 than to put together a special V10 specifically for the M5 and M6. Turbochargers allow for both high power, MUCH higher torque, and better MPG than the alternative. Not to mention, take a look at the 0-60 times - the BMW M5 throws it down in a claimed 4.7 seconds. The X5M and X6M, porkers both, throw it down in 4.5 seconds, despite being almost 1,000 pounds heavier each than the M5 and M6.
Not to mention, the Cadillac CTS-V threw it down on the M5 for this generation, showing BMW up in a BIG BIG way, and BMW does not want to let the Corvette ZR1-engined monster-Lac have the last laugh.

As for the next BMW M3? Compare the current M3's 420 horsepower to the M5's 500. Or the old M3's 340 horsepower to the previous M5's 400. Drop two cylinders, put it together, and it's reasonable to estimate that BMW will hike up the twin-turboed 3.0 I-6 from 300 horsepower to at least 430 (possibly over 450) horsepower and around 400 torque, thus putting BMW in a position to throw down against the Nissan GT-R performance-wise.
Are you against the idea of turbo M's? If so, then realize what BMW already has: Higher performance, better handling, better weight distribution, better MPG. And without having to spend millions on M-specific engine designs, BMW is free to throw its money towards other aspects of the M cars (suspension, brakes, etc), or to other BMW models.
Well, not that you care where BMW throws its money, but I personally enjoy keeping up with what they're doing next. You just want a kickass new M3, M5 and M6. And with turbos, that's exactly what you will get.
So to recap the estimated engine specs:
BMW M5 (and M6): 555 horsepower, 501 foot-lbs torque
BMW M3: 430-450 horsepower, 400-420 foot-lbs torque
